Hi, I just started reading Craig's book (like tonight) and I want to start with a simulator before crashing the real thing. I know I'll need a transmitter as well as the simulator software. What transmitters would you suggest? I want one that I can continue to use once I purchase a drone. Thanks, Bill
Given the low price of a USB (sim only) Transmitter - less than $20, you may want to reconsider using the TX later. After all, you are not certain what your next drone will be and what types of TX's will work with it: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20951__Hobbyking_6CH_RC_Flight_Simulator_System_Mode_2_.html
Heli-X works on Mac. The USB Transmitter, I would assume, will interface with it on Mac also. You just won't use the cheapo HK program that comes with the TX. You can confirm this by contacting the Heli-X people. If you have an android anything you can download some free simulators like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idl.android.glsample&hl=en This program has a mac version also, and they show lots of TXs it will work with: http://www.aeroflyrc.com/requirements.html I assume that will work with the Hobbyking thingy also.
