Hi everyone, I'e recently got a visuo drone and am wondering if anyone specifically has modified the controller or drone electronics to improve the lift weight to carry an action cam of around the 55gram weight? Atm I can "just" make it work for about 1min 30secs before it drops down and struggles to get more than 15cm off the ground....this is with a stock battery fully charged and the plastic guards off since they weight 11grams on their own.
Can't be done. You'll need a larger drone, preferably with brushless motors. This is a well liked quad at a very good, sale price that will easily lift your camera. https://bit.ly/2ug9akq
Thanks for your reply, I'm looking at a Syma x8c potentially.....I don't suppose anyone has any experiance of that? Loving flying the visuo do occasionally get a weird thing where it just turns the motors off and falls like a shot duck but luckily manage to save it by manually restarting the motors...I don't suppose anyone knows why...... Thanks.
Old tech, also with with cheap, short lifespan brushed motors like you have now. The Bugs3, even carrying an action cam will run circles around it and it's powerful brushless motors will last a long time.
I`m feel your pain man So first off, this was a gift. So I won't ever be a verified purchase, however, the person who bought the drone wrote a review and it was similar to what I'm going to say, but the company contacted that person and BEGGED them to take it down in return for a refund. Which is pretty horrible ethics in itself and I feel compelled to have an honest review on here, but the refund happened the next day and I'm getting a drone from a different company now. Anyways. On to the drone. The thing doesn't work. I mean, it flew but it barely responded to the controller. The seller advertises a safe flying margin of 50 meters (150 feet) from your phone and 100 meters (300 feet) from the controller. When this drone got about 10 feet away (or just a little over 3 meters away) it stopped responding to both the phone and the controller. It kept flying up and backwards and I have no idea where it went. I looked for it, its been 2 weeks and it still hasn't been found by anyone. So I got a faulty drone. And the company begged the person who bought it to give the drone a 5 star review because "they're a new seller and without your review we cannot make it." Whether the review was dishonest or not Either way, drone was horrible, didnt function like it was advertised, wasted a weekend in the hospital because of an accident that happened while looking for the stupid thing, and the seller has bad ethics and is looking for a cheap profit. Stay away.
Edit: I have currently micro quad H8 mini and JJRC H20, and I would alos like to have a model bigger to have more smooth flights. I’m thinking to buy a Wifi FVP quad to start to discover FPV, knowing quality won’t be good. If experience is good, I would probably go wiht a true FPV with VTX and goggle. Any advice for my need other than this XS809HW ? Was considering Eachine E33W, is it somehow equivalent ?.I saw camera is only 0.2MP unfortunately. I would like to have a quad that could fly a bit sporty as well, so I discarded Eachine E52W. I’m a bit reluctant with Altitude hold function, because I’m afraid it would be less reactive. Can it be deactivated ? Finally I take the opportunity of this message to ask you if you know any affordable mini quad providing rate mode instead of level mode ?
I done a lot of research into beginner quadcopters and I came to the conclusion the MJX Bugs series of drones have more options and very reliable at a affordable price. The Bugs series of drones also have many options for moding from batteries to FPV and camera gimbals. They also are covering a wide range of drones and replacement parts are fairly cheap and reliable. I don't care who you are, you will be crashing what ever you buy and I would much rather crash a 150 dollar drone instead of a 1,000 dollar drone. Before buying any drone go on YouTube and watch the reviews and read through customer reviews. Also look at the modifications people have done to get an idea what is capable.
