Thanks for the heads up. Distance isn't a deal breaker, but I have a friend that has a drone that will fly over 2 miles. I'm not spending that kind of money, but would like to go farther than 300 meters.

Much, much better. Starting with the controller with it's many discrete buttons (no multiple presses on one button for various options like the Bugs) and numerous available, adjustable tweaks, very comprehensive telemetry, more GPS modes and of course no need to fumble with a cell phone. Watch the vid I posted carefully. Now that they have lowered the Hubsan Quads price, it's a no brainer. And also keep in mind that every spare battery you buy will be about ~$7 cheaper than the Bugs, that adds up quickly.

    Good luck.

    Good Luck.

Thanks, I think I'll need it, because I'm still leaning twards the Bugs. I'll check the videos, and let you guys know what I decide after it's too late.

That's your prerogative, the Bugs is just a Hubsan Quads wannabe, out classed in every aspect. :)

The things that are on my mind is people saying they had problems after firmare udates, and I wonder if I want a little more range. Like said, still deciding...

FYI if you're modding the battery and taking the end cap off to use other batteries, you can get an ENGPOW 3,000 MAH that fits in the Bug 2 and 3

    Waveraider,

Amazon sells the Mystery Stone Bugs B2C for $169.99. I bought one and have never been disappointed. I am in the process of modding in a mini VTX transmitter for the proprietary camera. This way I can have FPV while recording the same image and adjust the quadcopter for still photos. The Bugs 2C and Bugs 2W are just a little slower than the Hubsan Quads but they both have 3 times the range and can use the same upgrade batteries of the Bugs 6 and Bugs 3. Also there are several upgrade options on aftermarket legs and a gimbal carriage. The gimbal carriage allows you to quickly attach and remove the gimbal or change out different cameras mounted on other gimbal pads.

    Elapid,

I have a SkyRC Balance charger with a 6 port charging board and I can charge 6 lipos of the same cell count at once. The Bugs 2 batteries need extended charging leads on both the Balance and Power. They sell the balance leads on Amazon and a two pack of male/female xt30 connectors. You will have to soldier the Male/Female leads together and shrink wrap the joints. The two pack xt30 leads are perfect length once soldiered.

Also it is wise to protect your circuit boards and electronics with MG Chemicals Silicone Conformal Coating. No one will tell you about this coating for dust, corrosion and even waterproofing your quadcopter. I know about it from my HAM radio experience. Build up layers on both front and back and include the wire ends so water can't travel down a wire to your circuit boards. Make sure you give it plenty of time to dry before powering up. This will also git rid of that battery acid smell after flying.
