Ive been looking for a year for 8mm x 50mm and 8mm x 75mm carbon fiber tube the website I am getting my supply list from requires it, yet i can only find 8x750 and 8x500 what is it anyways? 8= width and 7 or 55 = length? If that is the case I could get 1 x 8mm x 500mm tube and cut it in to 4x 8mm x 75mm and 4x 8mm x 50mm. Can you even cut carbon fiber weave

Can someone please explain it and if I'm simply ignorant or "stupid" just could you provide links?
    Thank you very much!

Is there anyone on the forums anymore? If you don't know the answer maybe you can give me the name of another forum I can ask.

Its really madding to see the views on this forum build up and no replies. Im asking a relatively general question considering carbon tubes are used on many forms of rc flight and ground systems. Can someone point me somewhere?, Anywhere?

Nope... I don't have any idea how carbon fiber tubing is sized... if that were steel tube, I'd say that they are asking for an oval shaped tube 85mm x 75mm, but I've never noticed oval carbon fiber tubes used on drones. Another naming convention I've seen with tubes would be the OD x ID of the tube. But this again doesn't make much sense with carbon fiber tubing. I wouldn't think a 5mm walled carbon fiber tube would be very practical for an aerial vehicle.

My guess is that nobody that has looked at your post knows much about the subject, or you haven't given us very good information to even attempt to help you. I promise that nobody is snubbing you or withholding information.

    Good luck!

Yes it can be cut then sanded smooth, you just don't want to inhale the dust. The cuts can be sealed with a touch of CA.
That doesn't make sense. Those specs almost sound like the dimensions of square tubing. What are you using it for?

I can't image what 85mm/2 1/2 inch tubing would be used for.

Looks like you just changed the diameter measurements in your OP.
You can get that from many sources.

Call me irritating but i still don't get it. if i was looking for 5mm x 69mm, is that diameter and length? there are three measurements on the ebay link which measurement corresponds to which dimension?

    For instance http://www.ebay.com/itm/322089075432
Im very confused. I calculated that i could cut one 500mm length piece into enough smaller pieces that would make up what is needed for 8mm but thats only if im reading the dimensions right.

By the way more information If you peek into my other threads you'll see I have been attempting to make a 3d printed dji inspire replica for a year and the carbon fiber has held me back for so long its so confusing i found a diagram online of how its measured why is # x # x # measured as inside diameter x outside diameter x length like in this picture and why am I only provided with 2 of the 3 needed dimensions? I just want this thing to fly Id just use pvc pipe if it fit! it doesn't by the way.

These are the resources im working off of.

All i know is i need small skinny carbon tube
    slightly bigger long tube and
    much bigger long tube
These dimensions are not what im used to and i do cad
Its making me mad and sad and a mix of emotions because i cant figure this out and its hard to find help from people
I want to post on forums but i feel like its not the same as talking to someone in real life.
I need to communicate my answers and have replies
I have a hard time doing that on paper
However I hope that this is all enough information for you to help short of building a clickable ebay cart
My dyslexia is not helping this at all.

    I'm assuming from the specs.
That those are all outside, OD measurements.

Is the inside diameter important for some reason? Are you planning on sleeving something into the tube? From your eBay link, that tubing is:
But I understand the confusion as from my link they don't seem to follow the same sequence. From the dropdown they list it as ODxIDxLength. 10x8xlength.

When searching look for OD to match your criteria. Note many clearly spell it out.

No its just confusing on this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/282248135909 , However the OD abbreviation is helpful I didn't know what that meant.
