Polar Pro makes various filters for GoPro and other sport cameras - among these are ND (Neutral Density) glass filters made for GoPro models.

ND filters are known to help with motion blur, jello and other problems caused by vibrations and very bright sunlight. The kit I tested is produced by Polar Pro with quadcopters in mind.

Included in this kit is a Polarizer filter, 2-Stop neutral density filter, and a 3-Stop neutral density filter. These filters not only improve image quality they also protect your GoPro lens while outside of the housing. These filters were designed to be extremely low profile and ultra-light, weighing only 6.7 grams which is perfect for most gimbals.

I wanted to test the ND filter and only have my Phantom Vision handy....so I mounted the GP on my bike helmet and went out to find some pavement and gravel which would cause some vibrations - and, of course, some bright sunlight also (this was easy since I was visiting Florida!)

Here's a video comparing the bare GoPro lens to one filtered with the Polar Pro ND.

I'll let your eyes be your guide, but I will be using these ND filters with my GoPro in bright sunlight and when I have it mounted on my various quadcopters. I like the idea of protecting the GoPro lens since it's very costly to repair or replace the factory lens.

To my eyes, details such as the lines between the paver bricks are much more evident in the video using the filters. There is also less lens flare and blowout from the bright sun.

I didn't try these on other cameras - but my guess is that these will work even better at smoothing out things on older models of GoPro (3, etc.) and on clones (assuming they fit or can be made to do so). All in all a relatively inexpensive upgrade to many sports cams.
