Hi all - I'm looking to build my first drone and researching with flight controller to use. I know it's a question that probably gets asked a lot, and I'm aware there's a handy page that outlines the technical differences (http://www.dji.com/info/spotlight/whats-difference-of-naza-m-litena...), but I'm wondering if anyone could offer me some idea of the differences in practical terms. I've read comments that are quite general such as 'V2 is for more professional use and the Lite is entry level' but I really want to know why. What are the actual limitations of the lite version as opposed to V2 and what extra features do I get for my money with V2? I'd be looking to build a drone for the purposes of photography/filming via a go pro on a gimbal. Thanks!
This makes it fairly clear: http://www.dji.com/info/spotlight/whats-difference-of-naza-m-litenaza-m-v1naza-m-v2 The lite does not support extended functions like the gimbal and on screen display. Also, it cannot be upgraded for waypoints (Ground Station). So if you are using manual control and just need the basics of the NAZA, the lite will do. But if you intend to Pimp Your Ride in the future, step up a notch or two.
Thanks for that. I noticed that the comparison states that the V2 has "amazing function extension:such as Zenmuse H3-2D/NAZA OSD/NAZA BT module/IOSD/Ground Station." I was considering the Tarot T-2D v2 gimball - would this and the v2 naza work together well?
I think even the lite supports basic gimbal pitch control (turning the camera up and down). Other than that, the Tarot probably comes with it's own controller so doesn't rely on the NAZA (although all NAZA's have support for 2-D gimbal centering)... Best thing to do is dig around google to find someone who did the exact same combo. It should work, just that you have options on how to power and wire it, etc.
