Hello and good day. I am somewhat new to the copter world and have been trying to find a copter for basic fun and games in my back yard which has remote claw or grasping mechanism. My needs are simple in that I am merely looking for enough strength to carry a small payload - such as a beer or sunscreen back and forth (I have a large yard and I'm lazy). Can anyone point me in the direction of such a copter or add-on components that can do this? I have searched diligently with no success. Any advice or suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. - CrazyChops

Hello IceFyre13th! Thanks much for the idea of looking into robot claws. I sort of figured there would be more straightforward information regarding claws specifically for copters and the like. Now I see that I may have to develop a solution with robot arms in mind it looks even more interesting. Thanks for the enlightenment. have a nice day! - CrazyChops
Hi there, dronefan. To say I've made any progress would be ridiculous. My co-worker got fired and now all of my good goofing-off time has disappeared. IceFyre13th had a few hints as listed above, but not quite what I was hoping for. I sorta wanted something with a claw that would lower from a little cord and grab stuff and then release it on command. the options IceFyre13th pointed out were more along the lines of a robotic arm, which probably makes more sense but would probably knock more things over than pick them up while doing remote grabs. Perhaps I'll find time to get back on this tomorrow. Please keep me posted if you find something fun. I appreciate the shout! - CC
How about a claw from one of those Claw Games........something like this http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shipping-Metal-Cranes-Machine-Small-Claws-With-Coils-and-plastic-claw-cap-Chocolate-Bar-Candy/32216092464.html
This drops off but does not pick up: http://www.horizonhobby.com/product/airplanes/airplane-accessories/other-accessories/servoless-payload-release-efla405 Or, make your own: http://makezine.com/projects/make-38-cameras-and-av/rc-remote-drop-mechanism/ I think it would be relatively easy to make something with a servo.....but "relatively" is not plug and play. Or, you can make it really easy by using a hook!
