Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum so please excuse me if this is a common question... or if im posting in the wrong place! This is more a question for you guys in the States, Im going on holiday to America next week. Im going to San Francisco, LA, Vegas, Orlando, and finally Miami. Im itching to take my drone with me, my question is are there any specific laws people know of in those areas that may restrict me flying it? I follow a few people on instagram who seem to fly them allover, ie in DTLA and over Santa Monica Pier, and im wondering if this is like common practise or if these guys have some kind of license that allows them to do that. Obviously im not stupid with it and wouldnt fly anywhere I dont think I should be. Im just debating whether it will be worth taking or not?! Not sure how the law operates out there as I know different counries in Europe have different rules and I really dont want to get in any trouble for it. Any opinions or advice appreciated! Thanks
There is an AP you cam download on your phone called B4UFLY that will tell you all the no-fly zones. If you have a DJI the software won't let you fly in those zones. You are probably not going to be able to fly in most of Vegas, there are 2 large civilian airports and 2 military airports. I have also heard that you have to fly high because of the paranoia over peeping Toms. GL and have a nice trip.
