Hi all, My son is looking at his first proper drone for his birthday coming up. He's already go the hang of small indoor drones and we're looking for something on a larger outdoor scale now with a camera preferably. I'm not sure what features we should be looking at but some of the things that I think it should have after some reading is headless mode, one touch return/landing and a reasonable fly/charge time. We will obviously need to have the ability to replace parts and look at spare batteries etc. We live in Melbourne Australia. These are a few that I've looked at, but wanted thoughts on these, plus any other worthwhile suggestions. https://justdrones.com.au/store/t1-720p-hd-wi-fi-fpv-quadcopter/ https://justdrones.com.au/store/dm009-conqueror-wi-fi-fpv-quadcopter/ http://www.auselectronicsdirect.com.au/rc-wifi-fpv-drone-with-720p-camera-and-optical-flo Thanks, Mick
Hey there -- Cool DAD! I can't tell from those specs if the drones you're looking at have brushless motors or not. You'll want those if your son plans to fly multiple batteries back-to-back -- other wise you need to wait a while after a 10-12 minute flight as coreless motors can burnout. If this is just a toy for him and it will be forgotten or abused within a year this is OK. Not sure how responsible he is and what you're looking for capability-wise, but if you can go up a bit in price I'd look for a used or refurbed Phantom 3 Standard. . If he is really into it and looking to really get out there this is a good starter.
