Hi, I am new to the ar drone 2 so please try to bear with me. I am using a android tablet for the control. My first two lift off where good, it lifted to about a metre and hovered there. The third lift of was different as it lifted a short distance then shot off to the right. Three times it has done this and I'm now reluctant to try again. I have read one of the tips that says press the reset button on the bottom of the drone, where is this button? I also read that if using android press the Emergency button on screen and this will do the same reset. Any more advice would be much appreciated as I'm dying to get up in the air and enjoy this new machine. Kit.
There should be a small hole labeled "reset" on the bottom of the drone. Hi, Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I have looked underneath but can find no small hole labelled "Reset". There are the sensors, light and camera, the only other thing is what looks like a very small button with an indent in the centre. I pressed this with a tooth pick, as suggested, but I could not detect any movement, no sound, no click felt. So it was back to the drawing board. I tried another suggestion, which was to tap the "Emergency" button on the tablet screen. Took the quad up the local field, did the set up and it flew. Hovered, moved left, right, forward and back, then I got a warning bleep and the quad landed itself because of a low battery :-( Again many thanks, if it had not been for this forum I would never have found the tip on using the emergency button, which I believe solved my problem. The Reset button of the AR Drone 2.0 is under the battery (small hole in tray the battery fits in), it will require a little work to "hit" the button with a tooth pick as it is recessed quite far in there. You also need to calibrate the aircraft for flight, when first powered up it must be placed on a absolutely level area. Before taking off find the calibrate "button" on your flight app and click it. Now it knows what level is and the gyros are set. Then take off and let it hover, once again click the calibrate button of your app and the aircraft should spin once for 360 degrees. Now your compass is set. The aircraft is now calibrated for easy flight and should be more stable.
