So I've had a lot of fun learning on a Syma x5c1 and have found I enjoy free flying much more then photography flight. Although I do like the capability of carrying a gopro. Im ready to upgrade to a drone in the $500 range. Can anyone point me in the direction of a fast maneuverable drone that could occasionally carry a gopro?
Nice well to be honest I think it would depend on the gimbal? You can find a whole list of drone parts accessories manufacturers on http://flying-drones.com/ I found them through DJI's site might help you!
I think you might have to look into some DIY stuff. It would be a challenge balancing form vs functionality, but it would be really fun
Something that offers some speed - as well as GPS and can carry a GoPro (no gimbal down at that price range) is the Blade 350 QX. The current model is QX3 but you can sometimes find the older 2 model for as little as $300 new or gently used. Off brand models such as the Cheerson, WL and Hobby King Quantum nova are a good value if you don't mind the complete lack of support - you have to have a bit of tech knowledge and be able to learn a lot on the internet forums. Craig, I think it would be a good idea to update or do a new e-book on FPV racing. Maybe a new subforum as well dedicated to FPV racing. This segment of the sport is quickly replacing aerial photography: Check out videos of FPV Racing: http://www.massiverc.com/fpv-racing.html
I agree but you are the guy who knows all the stuff - old dudes like me are not exactly the best with our eyes and reactions.... I can definitely add a chapter to the book anytime......you should write up something and I'll give credits and links!
