`This will be a continuing discussion of the Phantom 3 intro - as well as touch on anything else new at NAB (National Assoc. of Broadcasters) which occurs in Vegas this coming week.

The Phantom 3 camera will NOT have sound capabilities - but the mobile device can record sound along with the Phantom video and stream it to youtube.

 

Hmm, this is going to be introduced at NAB - maybe it will be the cam on the 3DR Solo?

3DR has released more info on their Solo model - it's a mid-sized drone which costs $1400 without the camera (bring your own GoPro)...

It looks like the Phantom 3's will be delivered as promised...

 

Yuneec has upgraded their Q500 quad - and announced even another upgrade:

The first upgrade is a larger screen on the controller as well as a better tuned camera (full 1080 as opposed to the older model which was not). It appears that the hand-held gimbal holder also comes with the kit.

The second upgrade is the announcement (but no ship date or price yet) of a full 4K camera model. This also comes with the handheld gimbal AND the camera reportedly captures audio making it very useful for ground based video!
