    Need a lot more information.

What is the total weight and size of the airframe, this determines what size propellers are you going to run and what motors are you going to use, as well as the ESCs you need.

30 minutes is a lot for a civilian UAV........over that and your talking a UAV that costs over $5000.00

That is a small UAV......so 9 X 4.7 propellers (2 clockwise rotation and 2 counter clockwise rotation) with 4 1200 Kv motors and a 3S LiPo battery rated around 2000Mah to 3000Mah, you can use 20 amp ESC's, but go 30amp for a little extra capacity

This will not carry 1.5 pounds though, your air frame is too small. Go to a 500mm frame and run 10 x 4.7 to 11 x 4.7 propellers with 950Kv motors on a 4S 5000Mah battery (using the 30 Amp ESC's too) would carry that....

Both versions above could give you up to 20 minutes of flight time......safer bet would be around 15 minutes.

Whats your budget for the whole thing and I can get you specific brand suggestions?

Also remember not all props are as good as each other......cheap props will give less thrust and may just fail because they can. Stick with good brands like APC or Graupner, no need for carbon fiber either.

I like motors and ESC's from Hacker the best, but expensive.......they don't fail. Hobby King has some good and some bad, read the reviews they have from others first.

Batteries are the same, buy cheap and get fire works.......buy good ones and a real good charger too, don't cheap out here as they can and will blow up if you do anything wrong with them.

Do you already have a frame, if so which one.

Do you already have the arducopter 2.6 (APM 2.6)? If not that alone is $240.00..........

What other parts do you already have?

So explain everything you want to accomplish with your build.......whats agg use?

The short answers you keep giving are making this real hard to help you......so please think about what you want to do and that will help us give you a better idea on what is available so you can do it.

If you have no parts, where did the frame spec you gave us come from?

Ok i would like to build a multi-rotor to carry a speaker around a farm to scare away birds. the flight path is about 2.4 mi and a 5 mph, it will take approx 16 min. the frame specs are form the frame i thought was the best frame (i have never done anything with multi-rotor before so idk if it is the best one). the speaker is on its own battery and that has been included in the payload capacity. i would lime to fly about 50ft up in the air.
sorry about the other short answers.

Cool, a flying scarecrow. Give me a little time and I will post links to the parts you need for this application.

Most will be from HobbyKing, they have great prices on stuff and I know what works and what dose not from them now.......I would not recommend one of mine as it would blow your budget, even though I would love to sell you one.

I even have light weight communication system designs that are used for two way communications in search and rescue UAV's. A little modification to one of those would make a neat way to do what you describe, the speaker /amplifier part could be used with a signal generator to create an annoying sound.

thank you so much for all of your help. the main reason i'm not using like a laud noise maker is because birds get useto spisific noises and with a speaker you can just change between different birds of prey

again thank you for all of your help!!

    Frame, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__42504__Hercules_500mm_QuadCopter_KIT_.html
This has enough room to add your speaker and other stuff.

    ESC, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25365__Turnigy_Multistar_30_Amp_Multi_rotor_Brushless_ESC_2_4S.html
    Get 4

    Battery, first choice http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__16493__ZIPPY_Flightmax_4500mAh_3S1P_45C.html
    second choice http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__11953__Turnigy_nano_tech_3300mah_3S_45_90C_Lipo_Pack.html
Probably best to buy your batteries at a local hobby store though due to restrictions on shipping these. Any good 3 cell battery with at least a 45C rating in the 3000 - 4500 mAh range. Buy 2 or more.....

Radio, again get at a local hobby store.... http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdId=SPM6630 would be great, but there are less expensive ones.

Around $140.00 from hobby king, and $160.00 for the radio......300.00 total.

You will need a good battery charger, get that from your local hobby store too when you buy the batteries....then you know your getting one that works well with them. These run around $50-100 depending upon features.

There are probably a few extras you will need, like battery hold down straps, servo tape, zip ties, etc.....but this will get you going.
