Fly a set route to get fuel prices?

    Hi :)

I'm completely new to drones so not sure if what I'm looking for is practical.

Rural fuel stations in my town are overcharging and I have a Facebook group for posting prices. Problem is I'm no always in town to drive to the 5 major stations, and can't convince the locals to help sufficiently.

Is there a model of drone that can fly a specific route, capture imagery will enough to be able to read the large pricing boards, and return home without being externally controlled?

Or am I beyond what current drones can do? I see there are some with "return home" capability...

    Cheers, Mike.

Can't seem to edit on mobile. I should add that I'm in Australia. I see a mention on other posts indicating you have to fly in visual range, so I'm probably out of luck.

It would be technically difficult and against most every rule in the book.....stuff like you mention is best done by crowd sourcing...that is, an app which gets people to report these things to a central place.

Ok. Yes it was starting to look like that. Only other option might be a camera with cell phone connectivity on a wall overlooking the relevant boards, but getting permission would be difficult.
