In most countries you have to keep the quadcopter in visual sight, which means that flights are not too far away! However, the range of a UAV is dependent - not on the brand - but on the specific receiver and transmitter as well as the battery, speed and many other factors. However, given that we cover mostly hobbyist quadcopter here, most of them stay within a km of the operator - and usually much closer. Those who fly further usually report losing their machines because in the hobbyist price range you simply are not getting machines which are super-reliable.
